Terms of Use and Sale · Hi Res Quest
Last updated: September 5, 2026
This is a courtesy translation. In case of discrepancy, the French version (« Conditions générales d'utilisation et de vente ») prevails. By using Hi Res Quest (“HRQ”), you accept the following terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. HRQ is a service published by the company AWYSE (the “Publisher”).
1. Description of the Service
HRQ is a web application that audits the audio quality of a user's music playlists by cross-referencing the contents of their library with the catalogs of several streaming services (Spotify, Qobuz, TIDAL, Deezer, Apple Music) and audio marketplaces (Qobuz Store, Discogs). Its purpose is to help the user identify the best quality available for each track and, optionally, to sync or purchase those versions in high resolution. HRQ offers free access (within a track quota) and paid plans described in Article 5.
2. Access and Eligibility
- HRQ is open to adult users (18+) or to users with parental consent.
- Authentication uses Sign In with Google. Access may be restricted to a list of authorized email addresses (private beta mode).
- HRQ reserves the right to refuse or withdraw access at any time and without notice in the event of abusive use.
3. Third-Party Accounts (Spotify, Qobuz, TIDAL, etc.)
HRQ connects to third-party services through their official APIs, using standard OAuth flows. You remain solely responsible for:
- complying with the terms of use of each third-party service;
- the confidentiality of your third-party credentials (HRQ never stores them in clear text on the client side);
- revoking access when you no longer wish to use HRQ.
4. Expected Use
HRQ is designed for personal, non-commercial use. The following uses are expressly prohibited:
- scraping or bulk extraction of third-party service catalogs;
- resale, redistribution or commercial exploitation of the data displayed;
- circumventing API limitations or copyright;
- large-scale automated use (bots, unauthorized scripts).
5. Subscriptions, Prices and Billing
HRQ offers two paid options. The unlimited plan (€49.99/year) gives access to unlimited audits and syncs and to all the features described on the Pricing page, for the whole duration of the subscription. Credit packs, with no subscription: 250 tracks = €7.99, 500 tracks = €13.99, 1,000 tracks = €24.99, 2,000 tracks = €44.99. One credit corresponds to the analysis of one track. Credits can be used for one (1) month from the date of purchase; after that period, unused credits expire and are not refunded. This validity period is stated again before each purchase. Prices are shown VAT included; applicable taxes (VAT, etc.) are calculated and displayed at checkout according to your country.
Founder price. Two categories of accounts benefit from an annual subscription price of €39.99 VAT included (instead of €49.99 VAT included), kept year after year as long as their subscription remains active without interruption: (a) accounts that activated an invitation from the alpha program before the public opening of the Service (“Founder” status); (b) people registered on the waitlist who subscribe to the annual plan within thirty (30) days following the end of their free trial period (one (1) month from the opening of their access). After that period, the price then in force applies. In the event of cancellation or non-renewal, the founder price is permanently lost; any new subscription is made at the price then in force. The renewal, withdrawal and cancellation terms of Article 5 apply identically.
First playlist free. When their access opens, every person registered on the waitlist receives credits to audit a first playlist of up to twenty (20) tracks, with no commitment and no payment method required. These credits are valid for one (1) month and are neither transferable nor refundable.
- Official seller (Merchant of Record). Payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as the official seller (“Merchant of Record”) on behalf of the Publisher. As such, Paddle issues the invoice, collects the payment, then collects and remits the applicable taxes. The descriptor on your bank statement will read “Paddle” (or an equivalent descriptor).
- Payment data. Your card details are entered and processed exclusively by Paddle on its secure infrastructure. The Publisher never collects, sees or stores your payment data.
- Automatic renewal. The annual subscription renews automatically at each renewal date at the price then in force, until you cancel it. In accordance with Article L215-1 of the Code de la consommation (French Consumer Code), you are informed by email, no later than one (1) month before the cancellation deadline, of your right not to renew the subscription; if you are not informed within that period, you may terminate the subscription free of charge at any time after the renewal.
- Management and cancellation. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from the Paddle customer portal (link provided in your confirmation emails and from the application). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for; no further charge is made afterwards, and paid access remains active until the end of that period.
- Price changes. Any price change is notified to you by email at least 30 days in advance and applies only to subsequent billing periods.
6. Right of Withdrawal (EU Consumers)
If you reside in the European Union, you have in principle a 14-day withdrawal period from the date of subscription, in accordance with consumer law.
Waiver for a digital service performed immediately. As HRQ is a digital service provided immediately after subscription, by subscribing you expressly request that performance of the Service begin immediately, and you acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the Service has been fully performed. This waiver is requested from you explicitly at the time of payment.
7. Refunds
Apart from the right of withdrawal described in Article 6, payments are non-refundable, except where required by applicable law or as a discretionary goodwill gesture by the Publisher. Requests, handled by Paddle in its capacity as official seller, may be sent to contact@hiresquest.com. Abusive bank disputes (“chargebacks”) may result in the immediate suspension of the account.
8. Intellectual Property
The names of works, artists and albums, cover art, and all data displayed by HRQ come from the APIs of third-party services and remain the property of their respective owners (artists, labels, streaming services). HRQ claims no rights over this content.
The code and design of HRQ (logo, interface, scoring algorithms) are the property of the Publisher, the company AWYSE.
9. Personal Data and Privacy
The processing of your personal data is detailed in our privacy policy.
10. Service Limitations and Legal Warranty
- Without prejudice to the legal warranties below, HRQ does not warrant continuous availability, the accuracy of comparisons between services, or the completeness of catalogs: results depend on the data declared by the platforms and on the public databases consulted.
- Third-party services (Spotify, Qobuz, etc.) may change their APIs or their terms at any time, which may affect the operation of HRQ without notice.
- Purchase recommendations (Qobuz Store, Discogs) are indicative only; HRQ carries out no transaction and does not receive your payment information.
Legal warranty of conformity (consumers — Articles L224-25-12 et seq. of the Code de la consommation, the French Consumer Code).
The consumer is entitled to the legal warranty of conformity if a lack of conformity appears during the supply of the digital service (subscription: for its entire duration; one-off supply: within two years of supply). During that period, the consumer only has to establish the existence of the lack of conformity, not the date on which it appeared.
The legal warranty of conformity entails the obligation to provide all updates necessary to maintain the conformity of the digital service. It entitles the consumer to have the digital service brought into conformity without undue delay following their request, free of charge and without major inconvenience to them. The consumer may obtain a price reduction while keeping the digital service, or may terminate the contract and obtain a full refund in exchange for giving up the digital service, if: (1) the trader refuses to bring the digital service into conformity; (2) bringing it into conformity is unduly delayed; (3) bringing it into conformity cannot be done without costs imposed on the consumer; (4) it is brought into conformity but this causes a major inconvenience; (5) the lack of conformity persists despite an unsuccessful attempt to bring it into conformity. The consumer is also entitled to a price reduction or to termination of the contract where the lack of conformity is so serious that it justifies an immediate price reduction or termination. Where the lack of conformity is minor, the consumer is only entitled to cancel the contract if the contract does not provide for a price. The consumer may suspend payment of all or part of the price until the trader has fulfilled its obligations under the legal warranty.
The consumer also benefits from the legal warranty against hidden defects (Articles 1641 to 1649 of the Code civil, the French Civil Code), where applicable. These rights are not affected by these Terms.
11. Liability
HRQ cannot be held liable for:
- content displayed by third-party services;
- changes, deletions or unavailability of playlists or tracks on third-party services;
- any purchase made by the user on an external service through a link suggested by HRQ;
- any loss of data following the revocation of a token, an API change, or a server outage.
To the extent permitted by law, the Publisher's liability, should it be incurred, is limited to the total amount paid by the user for their HRQ subscription over the last 12 months.
12. Changes to the Service
HRQ may evolve, add or remove features, or temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance. Price changes are governed by Article 5. Substantial changes to these Terms are notified by email to active users at least 15 days in advance.
13. Cancellation
You may stop using HRQ at any time. A paid subscription is canceled online, from your account menu (“Manage / cancel my subscription”, which opens the Paddle customer portal), and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; no justification is required. To permanently delete your HRQ account and the associated data, use “Delete my account” in your account menu (immediate erasure) or write to the address below.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a complaint, first write to contact@hiresquest.com; we reply within 15 business days. In accordance with the provisions of the Code de la consommation (French Consumer Code) concerning “the consumer dispute mediation process”, after contacting us and failing a satisfactory reply, you may use, free of charge, a consumer mediation procedure with: CM2C, 49 rue de Ponthieu, 75008 Paris, France — tel. 01 89 47 00 14 — website: https://www.cm2c.net/declarer-un-litige.php — email: litiges@cm2c.net (Centre de la Médiation de la Consommation de Conciliateurs de Justice, listed by the CECMC; mediation conducted in French; AWYSE membership agreement of September 4, 2026). The mediator must be contacted within one year of your written complaint (Articles L616-1 and R616-1). Failing an amicable resolution, any dispute will fall under the competent courts in accordance with the rules of the Code de procédure civile (French Code of Civil Procedure).
